Well, for us anyway. For the past few years we’ve had Purdue football season tickets and this year is no different. Well, except we missed the first 3 games due to something slightly more important going on. So the Penn State game was our first game! And oh man do we have some good seats!

There is no zoom on the second image. We’re literally 3 rows from the field. Unfortunately Purdue lost pretty bad to Penn State (6-20) and we missed every single field goal and extra point attempt. We’ve got a lot of work to do before the end of the season.
Also look forward to some honeymoon pictures in the near future!
Back one week before the wedding, Jess and I went to the Colts home season opener against the Chicago Bears. We had upper nosebleed seats and had a great time! Lots of Bears fans around us and it after sitting up near the top I would say none of the seats in Lucas Oil are really bad seats. Everything is well tiered so that it looks like you’re looking straight down to the field. We meant to post these earlier but the following whirlwind week leading up to the wedding left us a tiny bit occupied.
Go Bears!

Supporting the Bears of course!

The field as the clock hits 0:00
Hear that Bengal growling, mean and angry
See that Bengal prowling, lean and hungry
An offensive brute, run, pass, or boot
And defensively, he’s rough-errrr tough-errrr
Cincinnati Bengals that’s the team were gonna cheer to victory
Touchdown Bengals!!
Put some points up on the board and win a game for Cincinnati!
Who dey! Who dey!
Who dey think gonna beat dem Bengals? NOOOOOBODY!

Me before the game sporting my Ocho Cinco jersey!
Last night Rod and I had the opportunity to watch the Bengals battle (or crush
) the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium from the Fox 59/Indiana’s 4 suite. It was a great game; and even though I was in the suite, I was still able to catch a few of the touchdowns (in between talking to clients and other employees! I do have to admit, I was disappointed not to see Housh, Ocho Cinco, Rudi Johnson and Carson Palmer out on the field during the game, but I’d rather they rest up and get over those injuries for the Bengals/Colts game in December! A few pictures to show that I still have my Black and Orange pride:

You can’t see it very well but T.J. Houshmandzadeh is warming up on the field - that’s why I have such a grin, I think I’m going to get to see him play (too bad he sat it out)!

The Bengals warming up (Rudi Johnson is in that pic, I was SO excited to see him come out of the locker room)

Warmups and a great shot of the roof open at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The last play of the game - GO BENGALS!
We had a lot of fun and it was really a great night for me, even if the “Cincinnati Chili” at the suite was just regular chili (including beans and tomatoes) with cinnamon added. I can’t wait to go back in December and watch the Bengals battle the Colts for a second time.
We were lucky enough to be able to see the first game (albeit preseason) in Lucas Oil Stadium. Unfortunately the Colts didn’t have a very good showing and lost 20-7. Oh well, we still have pictures!

This past Sunday we had an opportunity to get a sneak peek at the new Lucas Oil Stadium thanks to Jess being the keyholder for their corporate suite.
Overall the new stadium is a major step up over the old RCA Dome. The acoustics are much better and all the seats feel closer to the field. The interior is slightly less industrial and concession stands seem more numerous. The suites are much larger and more comfortable as well. The retractable roof is a very nice touch and it makes the interior feel incredibly more “outdoors” and lets in an immense amount of natural light. The window on the side of the stadium that also opens provides for an awesome view of downtown.
On the down side, the stadium exterior looks more like a college field than a professional football stadium. The consessions in general are very generic and there isn’t much variety. The new airport puts a focus on local restaurants and foods that are authentic to Indiana. It’s too bad the stadium didn’t follow suite. There are a few cool looking concession stands that would have provided an excellent opportunity for this.
Anyway, on with the pictures!

We picked up an HDTV antenna this evening and it works great. Hooray!
Also here is a cute picture of Jess and Caroline I took tonight. This post is really just an excuse to put this image on the blog.

This weekend has flown by! I’m trying to be better at updating the blog, especially with us going live with the rest of the site shortly. Let me know if you’d rather have more wedding content or more content about our life!
Friday was nice and relaxing, we went up to the new market in Fall Creek Place, The Goose, and had some very delicious lamb brats for dinner on crackers with goat cheese and a trio of mustards.

Doesn’t that look delicious? I’m so happy that we have the Goose in our neighborhood as you can find all kinds of amazing meats and cheeses. If you’re ever in Indianapolis and looking for delicious specialty food I’d check it out! We called it an early night on Friday so we could get up early and root for the Boilermakers up in West Lafayette. Tailgating is hard work but a good time. A few pictures of us at Ross Ade stadium show how much fun we had even though Purdue lost to Michigan State.

When we got back to Indy we had a dinner party to attend and had a very late night! It was a lot of fun though and left us well prepared for a morning of sleeping in. This morning when we got up we tried making delicious egg, bacon and cheese biscuits with an onion horseradish sauce. They were so good and only after gobbling them down we realized that we forgot to take pictures of our delicious breakfast. After breakfast we headed to the grocery store to pick up food for this week’s menu. We picked up a bunch of beautiful fall colored daisies to add a splash of color to the dining room.

Aren’t the colors great?
Tonight we’ve been working on the website, ordering save the dates and putting together a shutterfly photo book for our engagement pictures. A pretty productive “lazy Sunday” if I do say so myself!

As Rod mentioned in the last entry our save the dates have been (partially) ordered. Last night he worked his design magic and we settled on two designs. One of which we have to wait to order until after we get the engagement picture DVDs and the other which is on order right now. Although it’s on “slow” so I’m not getting my hopes up until I have them in my hands! Once I do get them I’m shooting to get them in the mail before Christmas.
Since we have our save the dates done and the very stressful room blocks are mostly done (don’t plan a wedding for a race weekend in Indianapolis with out of town guests - it’s SO frustrating!) I’m very excited for some relaxation during the weekend. Saturday will be a long day with a Purdue home football game against Michigan State and in the evening we have a dinner party to attend. Sunday we haven’t figured out our plans yet, but I do know we’ll be sleeping in! Maybe we’ll get around to cutting the grass, or maybe we’ll just relax and enjoy a lazy Sunday at our wonderful house. Who knows, although I do know I want to make a big breakfast on Sunday morning.
I’m also really excited, since it’s finally chilly, to go to the football game and have Rod’s famous spicy chili (which he’s preparing in the picture above - isn’t he cute in the kitchen?
) to warm us up!
