Put your best foot forward

I have finalized my bridal shoes and crossed them off my list. I found the shoe clips in a website suggested from one of our groomsmen and customized them with jewels on the bottom with our initials and our wedding date.

Here’s the shoes with the clips.

Here’s a picture of our initials on the bottom. It’s one of my two something blues!

I’m so excited to have found exactly what I envisioned for my wedding shoes. Now I just have to get grip for the soles of the shoes and practice going down stairs in them and I’ll be set!

Since the blog was a great tool in finding the jeweled clips for my wedding shoes I’ll pose another shoe-related question, where have you found grip for the soles of your shoes before?

Hairy and the Harbisons?

So that I don’t end up looking as unkempt as Harry from Harry and the Hendersons I’ve been working on trying to grow out my hair since last March. I’m slowly getting there, but I’m about to take the plunge and consider pre-natal vitamins or those crazy hair growth pills. The only thing with taking those vitamins is I worry about ending up looking like Cousin It from the Adams Family. With the pillsĀ  I don’t know if the hair will just grow on my head or all over my body, what if I end up looking like a bear or something? I may just take my chances and see where my hair is in August so I’m not dealing with crazy amounts of hair everywhere! :)

Bridal hair is quite the tricky business, there’s the worry of looking as groomed as a french poodle. There’s also the worry of looking like a cross between a Madame Alexander doll and Priscilla Presley.

It’s just not cute - nor is it me.

To give me inspiration (and to convince me not to cut my hair in the summer) I’ve gathered a few pictures from The Knot of bridal hair that I absolutely love (and avoids the poodle-madame alexander-presley conundrum).

A swooping bang with the hair half-up and curled.

A view of the same hair from behind.

Here’s that hair again using a veil similar to mine. Oh and as a side note - I swear that’s her dad in that picture, to clear up confusion.

Here’s my favorite bridal hair, but I don’t think I have enough hair to pull it off!

Another view of this hair option.

The back of the hair, unfortunately there’s not a picture of her with a veil or I’d post that too.

I think I might have to suck it up and deal with extensions so I can get the longer, flowy curls with the hair held halfway up. I also think I need to find jeweled hair clips (or maybe not, do I really need to buy more sparkly things for the wedding?) to aid in holding hair up/down/back/whichever way it needs to go. As long as I don’t end up looking like Harry (or cousin it) on September 13th, I’m sure I’ll be fine.

Just in case you needed a refresher on what Harry looked like. Isn’t he a looker folks? :D
