It was a great weekend in Cincinnati for the Harbison-Weaver family!
We headed down on Friday afternoon and when we got in we went to the Dilly Deli for dinner with my parents. I had been there in high school but it’s changed a lot! It certainly lives up to it’s Beer Advocate and Wine Spectator ratings. There was live music, delicious cheeses, wonderful entrees and great wine & beer! Rod and I were very surprised with the selection and the food was really great. I had the Shrimp and Asparagus salad which was very good!
Saturday started off with breakfast at the Blue Wolf Cafe in Sycamore Township. We headed down to the bridal district in Reading, OH to visit Bridal & Formal where we finalized my mom’s mother of the bride gown:

This will be a lovely sage green color, matching the rest of the wedding! Won’t she look great?
We made a trek to the new Ikea in West Chester and picked up many things for the wedding and our house including:

Picture frames for table numbers, menus, etc. at the wedding

A hook to hang Caroline’s leash by the back door!
From there we headed to Jungle Jims where we picked up a ton of beer, hot sauce, spices and other international goodies. After heading home to let the zoo of dogs out and feeding them dinner we headed to Augusta, KY. Rod had never been on a ferry before so we decided to take the ferry across to the Beehive Tavern for dinner. A few pictures from the ferry:

Rod and I with Ohio in the background.

The Harbisons in the same spot on the ferry.

View down the river.

The Kentucky side of the river, where Rosemary Clooney grew up!
We finished the evening with a stop at the Party Source before heading back to my parent’s house. I picked up a bottle of the Coppola Sophia Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine because I was interested in knowing if it was any good, or the mini-cans it comes in would be swill (drinking wine strictly for research purposes!). Here’s a few pictures (thanks to the internet):

The label of the bottle is just adorable!

Here’s the cans for when we’re getting ready the morning of the wedding.
We wrapped up our time in Cincinnati on Sunday with a trip to the Taste of Cincinnati. Each year we go and eat our way though the downtown area. We also got a picture again with the Mecklenberg Gardens cutouts:

I think I’m marrying a pretty hot beer wench!
Yesterday was a day of cleaning up our mess, hanging things, doing laundry and grocery shopping. We also learned that Costco is closed on Memorial Day. It was a good weekend, and this week being 3.5 days long makes it even better!
What did you do for your Memorial Day weekend?
