Update: I have rewritten this post after talking with Rob England, the General Manager at the Clybourn Goose Island location.  Apparently the Chicago Tribune has a few misprints.

It looks like our favorite Chicago brewery has finally hit the big two-oh.  In American microbrewery years that’s pretty old.  To commemorate their 20th anniversary, they’re releasing 12 special, limited-edition beers biweekly at the legendary soon-to-be-closing Clybourn location.  These beers are meant to be a sampling of their work over the past 20 years, so we aren’t talking about 12 different Imperial over-hopped alcohol monsters here.  The bottles are not being distributed outside of the brewpub, which is incredibly unfortunate for those of us in Indiana!  Bottles are available for $12 each or $150 for one of each (Doppelbock and Barley Wine are $15 each).  The first release, released on Wednesday, is the Midway IPA.

You can sign up for a subscription over the phone by calling the Clybourn location directly and pick up the beers at your leisure.  Many of these carry a standard 90-day shelf life, so it’s probably not the best idea to pick them all up in December.
